Technical Details

Format

Design files are in EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) format. This is a vector format supported by both pc/nametag and MARCO Promos.

(Note that Ribbons Galore, another well-known US producer, does not support EPS.)

Size

Designs are sized for a 3.4 by 0.9 in. imprint area, intended for the common 4 by 1 5/8 in. ribbon size. (This size is based on MARCO Promo’s standard; other producers don’t seem to have any explicit recommendation.)

Colors

Design files are in black and white for a single-color imprint. The images that appear on the main page are only samples based on the ribbons I order. Actual colors will depend on the producer’s availability, and you can choose entirely different colors if you want.

Warning About MARCO Promos

If you order from MARCO Promos, please be aware that (as of June 2026) there is some sort of bug in the ribbon designer with regards to EPS files. Specifically, the artwork will turn out “smudgy” and this will carry over into the final product. You can get around this by converting the file to SVG before uploading.
