A Note on Impersonation

My social-media accounts are listed on the homepage of this site. If an account does not appear there, it may be someone trying to impersonate me.

One technique that scammers use to target online communities is to create fake profiles that impersonate established members. I am not currently aware of any profiles that impersonate me specifically, but I am putting out this warning just in case.

If you are contacted by an account that claims to be me, go to the homepage and check if it appears there. If it doesn’t, then it is most likely an impersonation. (There is a slight chance it’s not an impersonator and I just forgot to list it. If you’re unsure, please e-mail me or contact me through one of the real accounts on the homepage.)

If you are sure that an account is an impersonation, please report it to the site in question, and consider sending it to me for my awareness.
